Jason & Sarah, the trainers at the Connected Canine
Hi everybody! All of us here at The Connected Canine Dog Training Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley thought you might like to learn a little more about the members of our team. We each have our own talents and strengths, but we’re all committed to the same goal - creating amazing well-behaved dogs and happy, highly satisfied owners.
Sarah Mitchell ~ Head Lady In Charge Of Stuff
Sarah is the brains and the beauty of our operation. She grew up surrounded by dogs at the International Guiding Eyes Guide Dog School, where her father was Head Trainer and later at her family’s dog grooming business. She is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and an extremely talented dog trainer who loves to think outside the box when it comes to solving your dog’s toughest problems. Sarah particularly enjoys the challenge of working with high-energy, high drive dogs like shepherds and collies and loves teaching puppies all the things they need to know to be great family companions. When she’s not training dogs, you can probably find her teaching her own dogs new tricks and letting her husband think that he runs things around here.
Jason Mann ~ President Of Poop Patrol
Sarah’s husband, Jason is also the brains and the beauty of our operation. He’s in charge of the day-to-day business and operations at The Connected Canine, especially the all important “poop patrol!” He is passionate about constantly improving his dog training skills by studying with and learning from some of the best dog trainers and behaviorists in the world. Jason loves to work with small dogs (because there’s nothing cooler than a well trained little dog!) and young, knucklehead bully breeds. When he’s not training dogs, you can probably find him writing and recording music, or out on an off-leash hike with his wife and dogs.
Annie ~ Chief Dog Officer
Annie is a 3 year old border collie/pit bull mix and our canine right hand and helper. She has a Master’s degree in Human Psychology and isn’t afraid to use her advanced licking skills on any human within her reach. She loves every person she meets and, since nothing phases her, she’s great at helping the more challenging dogs we work with learn how to behave appropriately around other dogs. Annie LOVES puppies, taking on a “foster-mama” role and teaching them how to play and behave. Annie’s favorite thing to do is learning new tricks and commands and practicing the ones she already knows. When she’s not working, you can find Annie soaking up affection from any willing human while gazing adoringly into their eyes. Want to see Annie working? Click HERE!
Penny ~ Activities Director
Penny is a 2 year old golden retriever/pit bull mix who never met an animal she didn’t want to play with. She is our self-appointed Director of Activities and Socialization. Her motto is “I’m pretty sure it wants to play...” and applies to all animals (dogs, cats, dead squirrels, burros, etc.) Penny always manages to coax shy, uncertain dogs into coming out of their shells and enjoying their stays with us. She is a talker and is well known for her special noises, including grunting like a pig. When playtime is over, Penny enjoys chasing a ball and chewing on bones. One day, she would love to be Frisbee Dog!
Oreo ~ Vice President of Distractions
Oreo is the most confident cat you will ever meet, which makes him perfect for his job here at The Connected Canine. He makes sure that every dog here understands that HE is in charge, and helps us by acting as a very tempting distraction when we are teaching dogs that sit means sit and down means down no matter what. Oreo’s favorite pastime is wandering around the house looking disdainfully at dogs.
